Calendar Import and Export in the New Timetable
The new timetable offers various options for importing calendars and displaying them alongside your schedule.
This includes calendars from applications you have activated via the WebUntis platform, but also private calendars can be shown in the timetable view.
In addition, you can still subscribe to your timetable using an iCal feed, allowing you to view it in external calendar applications outside of WebUntis.
Integrating Calendars from Platform Apps
If a platform application offers the option to display calendar data in the timetable, make sure to enable the "calendar integration" checkbox at the bottom when activating the app via Administration | Platform.
The WebUntis administrator can then define via the timetable formats (Timetable | Settings | Timetable formats) whether external calendars should be displayed in the timetable and whether they should be highlighted in color.
In the new timetable, all users can show or hide the various activated calendars at any time via the three-dot menu located below the timetable.
This allows users to decide at any moment which appointments should be displayed in addition to their regular timetable.
You will then see all events in your weekly views (e.g. in your personal timetable) that your WebUntis user account has access to.
External events are not shown in the daily overviews.
If you click on an external event in the timetable, a detailed view of the event opens in the foreground. This view includes a direct link to the related platform application.
Currently, the following platform apps can display events in the timetable (please note that the availability of these apps depends on your location):
- School Year Calendar
- Klassengeld
- eduPAY
Integrating Private Calendars in "My Timetable"
The option to integrate a private calendar in WebUntis is available only via
Timetable | My Timetable, using the three-dot menu below the timetable.
If you have integrated a private calendar, you can also show or hide it from this menu, or remove the connectionentirely.
The number of private calendars that can be integrated is limited to two.
Note:
There are certain limitations regarding recurring events, which are restricted by the iCal standard:
If a single occurrence of a recurring event is moved to a different day, this change cannot be recognized via an iCal subscription and therefore will not appear in the new WebUntis timetable.
If a single occurrence is deleted, this deletion will not be reflected in the timetable.
However, a change in time (on the same day) can be displayed in the timetable.
Who Can Integrate Private Calendars?
Integrating a private calendar is possible for the following user groups:
Teachers – always
Students and legal guardians – only if the module “Individual Student Timetable Query” is active
Admin users (e.g. secretarial staff) – cannot subscribe to a timetable, so the calendar integration option is not shown in their profile.
Subscribing to Your Timetable via iCal
You can also subscribe to your WebUntis timetable in an external calendar application via iCal.
This option is also available in the timetable view via the three-dot menu below the timetable.
