Contrary to course templates, are courses limited to a particular school year, since students can select a special
course, and are therefore assigned to the selected courses.
On the <Courses> | <Courses> page there is a list with all offered courses.
If you want to create a course, just click on the <New> button.
In the mask shown, you can modify all attributes which were imported from the course template, and can add information:
The persons who are entered in the fields "Person in charge" and "Deputy" have additional rights to administer and edit courses. You can explicitly select course managers with this selection.
Teachers, departments, course categories and course modules
You can choose several options.

Students can only register for courses with the status of "planned" and "confirmed".
Administrators can carry out registrations regardless of the status.
If the course template, which the course originates from, is described as "Semester course", the "Semester" input field is available for you to select one of the semesters defined in the master dates of the respective school year.
You need to create a new semester in the properties of the school year, under <Master data> | <School years> with the names, e.g. "1st sem." and "2nd sem.".
Class &maximum number of participants
Here you can select, which classes have the permission to register for this course. Additionally, you can enter the maximum number of participants per class:
If you do not use class filters, you can restrict via the class level which students are admitted to a course.
For courses in the following school years, you need to create the respective school year in WebUntis.
(Please note that the time range of the respective school year must comply with the one you are going to us in Untis. Often, you do not have yet any Untis data for the future school year!)
If you filter a course by class levels, the excepted class levels of the students in future school years are automatically taken into account. A student who currently attends class level 7 will be invited to select a course of the next school year which is filtered by class level 8, for instance.
Please note that for this purpose, the class levels must be entered under "Master data | Classes" in Untis (and therefore after exporting master data to WebUntis, also there). In WebUntis, you can check the class levels in the overview of <Master data> | <Classes>.
The student users must be assigned to a department for this purpose. Therefore, the registration can be restricted to courses of your own department.
Restricts the selection of courses to one course per course code for the student. A student is not to select two courses with the same course code.
Max. number of participants
Whenever the maximum number of participants for a course is reached, the student can be put on a "waiting list" provided that the course has the property: "Waiting list available".
This option makes it possible for students, to register for a waiting list if the course is already booked out.
Whenever a registered student drops the course, the first one on the waiting list is automatically moved up the list:
Any additional information entered in the fields: "Content", "Evaluation", "Educational objectives", "Remarks" and "Costs" can be accessed by the students.
If you happen to know the dates of a planned course, you can enter them here. It will be shown when the students register. This information does not schedule any courses or periods, it only serves as information.
Depending on the settings of the registration period, course clashes of already selected courses can be recognised by pre-defined dates when the student registers, and therefore the registration can be rejected.
Warning: When a course manager registers a student for a course, this analysis will not be carried out!
The courses must be assigned to registration periods in order to be available for registration for the students. For more information read the article: "Registration and opting out periods".
