Large schools which either have several departments or need to be split up in an abstract way due to their size, the timetable is usually created not only by one, but by several persons. The goal is the same here: Creating an ideal overal timetable, in particular regarding common resources of the departments, such as teachers and rooms.
Additionally, the daily substitution planning is done per department at many schools, i.e. by several substitution schedulers, which also needs to take into account any cross-departmental elements.
These requirements make it necessary that certain processes such as optimisation or daily substitution scheduling can be done per department.
By using the "Department timetable" module you have the possibility to restrict the work on a document to one department, or you can fully automatically export the department data in a separate .gpn file in order to be able to edit them individually. These data are later merged to one document.
In particular in combination with Untis MultiUser mode, the department timetable can show its full power.
