Go to the "Start" tab in "Cover scheduling" mode and click on "Settings". Here you can define general settings for the substitution counter.
Count what...
In the first input box you define, which parameters contribute to the calculations of the counter, whereby substitutions and special duties increase counts, releases and cancellations reduce counts. Additionally, break supervisions can optionally be counted half like normal substitutions and supervisions.
Period
In the second input box, you define the reference period for the counter. If, for instance, you choose "Month", the sum total of the counter refers to the current month. It is then determined by the current date that you set in the calendar. You also can enter a time range of your choice (e.g. term).
Count how...
In the segment "Count how", you can define, if the number of periods or if values (pre-requisite is the "Lesson planning and value calculation" module) are counted.
Count cancellations only for absences with a reason
Here you can define, whether absences without a reason of absence are 0>counted or not.
Don't count
A certain substitution which usually is counted positively for the substituion teacher, is not to be counted. Enter a self-chosen code (e.g. "n"). Enter this code in the "Statistics" column for the respective substitution in the substitution window.
In the "Count" column of the substitution window you see at a glance, whether a cancellation or a substitution is counted from the substion teacher's point of view (pos. or neg.) or not. Alternatively, you can visualise this information (green = pos., red = neg.) via the "Colour Substitutions" button (go to "Settings" in the "Substitution window). If you want to deactivate this setting, close the substitution window and open it again.
Paid substitutions
If a substitution is not to be countes because it is paid, do the following:
- Enter a statistics code (e.g. "b") in the "Don't count" input box, and additionally check the box "Paid substitutions".
- Enter this statistics code in the substitution window for the respective substitution teacher in the "Statistics" column.
- Such an entry has an effect on the substitute suggestion in so far that the number of paid substitutions are shown for the set time range.
- This substitution is not counted in the substitution statement, and is shown as "Do not count substitution.
If cancellations of a certain subject (e.g. contact hour) is not to contribute to the substitution counter, the "Don't count cancellation" box of the respective subject must be checked (go to "Subjects | Master data").
'In-lieu' substitution
If a teacher does not teach his or her period, since the class is absent, this period is counted with -1. If the respective teacher substitutes a class in this very period, then this counts for +1. The teacher therefore has a cancellation counting for -1, and a substitution counting for +1, i.e. the sum total of this count is 0.
If the the box 'In-lieu' sbustitution is checked, this teacher also has a sum total of 0, however, his or her statistics show 0 substitutions and 0 cancellations.
Count exams in a neutral manner
Examination supervisions can be counted in a neutral manner when this box is checked. For more details, please read the chapter "Counting of exams".
