If the timetable changes during the year in your school, you can carry out all changes with the "Multiple terms" features. You can administer several timetables in one file, and the substitution planning for the entire school year can be saved in one file. The advantage is that you only have one .gpn file per school year, and that you can statistically analyse the entire school year at any point in time, even if the timetable had to be changed during the school year.
Example: terms and substitution planning
As of 1 February, changes in the timetable are necessary and the timetable of some classes and teachers needs to be changed.
Open a new period as of 1 February and change the timetable in this term. Substitution planning can continue to be carried out. Aa of 1 February, the cover schedule is based on the new timetable. It is even possible to prepone periods beyond terms.
If substitutions have already been entered in the new timetable, they are now checked on consistency and deleted, if necessary. Already edited substitutions are turned into unscheduled substitutions, if necessary (e.g. the already scheduled substitute teacher is scheduled for one of his/her lessons).
If substitutions have already been scheduled, and if the timetable has been changed retrospectively, it can be necessary in some cases, to re-structure the substitution data in the time range displayed in the substitution window by the means of the substitution diagnosis.
