Counting substitution cases can be controlled via the reason of absence.
Count / no count of cancellation
If a teacher cannot teach a regular lesson due to an absence, you can control via the reason of absence whether and how this not taught lesson is counted from the teacher's point of view.
Reason of absence and substitution counter
The example below, the box of the reason of absence "Off - Official" in the "Cancellation" column is not checked. This means that a cancelled period with this reason of absence is not to be counted negatively for the teacher.
The box of the reason of absence "SL - Special leave" is checked. This means that a cancelled period with this reason of ab is to be counted negatively for the teacher.
Arist was set absent with the reason "Off - Official", and Curie with the reason of absence "SL-Special leave".
The substitution statement, which you can access via the < Reports> button on the "Start" tab, you see how these absences are counted.
On Monday, four periods are cancelled for teacher Aristoteles. However, these cancellations are not counted negatively because he has an official assignment. The four cancellations are shown in the substitution statement, however, they are not counted. The sum total for Aristotles is zero, cancellations not to be counted: 4.
Teacher Curie was not present due to special leave. The reason of absence had the checked box "Count cancellation" . This is why the four cancelled periods on Monday are to be counted negatively. Teacher Curie, therefore has four cancellations to be counted, her substitution counter is on -4.
How to adjust reasons of absence
Apart from the decision, whether a cancellation is to be counted or not, you have the possibility to adjust the reasons of absence:
Definition
Pre-defined descriptions can be assigned to absences. Go to "Master data | Special data | Descriptions".
Don't count releases
If a class is not in the school building, the teachers who cannot teach their regular lessons due to this absence, are released. Usually such cancelled periods are counted negatively. If you don not want these to be counted, check the box next to "RS n. counted". This is particularly important for events (sse chapter "Events and substitution counter").
Stat. code(s)
Entries in this field are important for some regional analyses. Based on these entries, different reasons of absence can be combined to one group (e.g. all reasons of absence regarding illness).
Not in absence head
Reasons of absence having a check in the box "Not in Abs.Head", are not to be printed in the absence head (also see chapter: Absence head).
