Changes with file attachments in WebUntis2021

With internal messaging system and with Untis Messenger it is still possible to upload files directly to WebUntis.

For all other parts of WebUntis uploading files is only possible with OneDrive. Details hier

By August 17th, 2020 (with WU2021.1.0) it is not possible anymore to to upload files with WebUntis Drive.

By end of 2020 it will also not be possible anymore to download files, that were attached with WebUntis Drive.

Where in WebUntis is it possible to attache files?

• period details
• teaching content
• homework
• messages of the day
• internal messages (with or without OneDrive)

change permissions

In "Administration" > "rights and roles" > "switch to expert mode" > "rights" (at relevant role)
you can change following permissions:

• File Storage
  
  • show "File Storage" menu item in main menu - only for existing users (to manage previously uploaded files)
  • up to now to upload files in WebUntis Drive and to attache them in WebUntis
• File attachments via OneDrive
  • to attach files from OneDrive in WebUntis

Opening or downloading attachments does not require any special permissions.

File storage NO + OneDrive YES

1. Everywhere in WebUntis OneDrive will be used for attachments.

File storage YES + OneDrive NO

1. Only at "internal messages" files can be uploaded and attached.
2. "File storage" menu item in main menu until end of 2020.

File storage NO+ OneDrive NO

1. Only at "internal messages" files can be uploaded and attached.
2. "File storage" menu item in main menu not displayed anymore.
